Four local artists want to be sure everyone can afford to give local handmade gifts to friends and family this holiday season. Their 8th annual Holiday Pottery, Art and Seconds Sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in a new location in two studios located near the Fairgrounds in Grass Valley.

Potter Chic Lotz is joining Caroline Courtright at her studio at 12025 Larkspur Lane about 1 1/2 miles from the fairgrounds down McCourtney Road. Lotz does wheel thrown pottery such as mugs, bowls, plates, platters, vases and birds.

Courtright specializes in painting natural landscapes and waters of the Sierra Nevada and beyond.

Mindy Oberne and Roger Lewis are a few minutes away down Old Auburn Road at 13169 Star Lane, Grass Valley.

Oberne hand forms functional ceramics as well as whimsical teapots and sculptures. Lewis photographs Antarctica glaciers, wildlife and lots of penguins as well as local scenes around our town.

In addition to showing their finest wares, there will be a “seconds” area with items marked half off.

“We have something special for everyone on your list,” said Mindy Oberne.
