In the first film a three-man British film team traveled with Khampa guerrillas over a 20,000 foot pass into Tibet and captured dramatic footage of the subsequent attack on a Chinese military convoy. It is the only available film of the Tibetan guerrilla fighters who carried on their resistance efforts in Tibet from the remote areas of Nepal from 1960 to 1964. The second film documents the history of political struggle between Tibet and China through archival film shot by British military, trade agents and travelers in the early part of the century. It shows daily life and Tibetan Buddhist public rituals in the days before Chinese occupation, as well as the exodus of the Tibetans from their homeland to India led by the 15 year old Dalai Lama.
