Yom Kippur services begin Tuesday evening in Grass Valley

Congregation B’nai Harim at the Nevada County Jewish Community Center invites the community to join the Jewish High Holiday services for the holiday of Yom Kippur.

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year and was celebrated from Oct. 2-3. Yom Kippur is the “Day of Atonement” and begins on the Tuesday evening, Oct. 11.

The service schedule, which takes place at the NCJCC at 506 Walsh St., Grass Valley, is as follows:

Yom Kippur

Kol Nidre / Evening Service: Tuesday 7:30 p.m.

Morning Services: Wednesday 10 a.m.

Yizkor / Remembrance Service: Wednesday 3:30 p.m.

Our High Holiday services, like all of our worship services, are open to all, regardless of financial means. No one is turned away for lack of funds, but reservations are required for High Holiday services.

For guests, visitors, and regular attendees who are not currently members, we request the following donation with your reservation:

• $25 per person for any or all services on this holiday (relatives of members)

• $50 per person for any or all services on this holiday (non-member)

Visitors from other Jewish Congregations may bring a letter on their Temple letterhead stating that they are members for free reciprocal admission to our services.
