Wine tasting event Nov. 13 benefits Bitney College Prep

Bitney College Prep’s 3rd Annual Wine Tasting fundraiser starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Foothills Event Center, 400 Idaho Maryland Road, Grass Valley.

Local wine expert David Luce of Alta Sierra Wine Shop will be a key presenter, as he helps people discover the intricacies of a dozen wines while they also taste and judge for themselves.

Live music will be provided by local harpist Rosa Taylor. Appetizers that pair with the wines will also be available.

“This will be a fun evening for experienced wine connoisseurs as well as those just learning to appreciate wine,” Luce said. “It is the perfect opportunity to stock up for the holidays while supporting a great cause (cash and credit cards accepted).”

Organizers said that Luce has assembled top quality wines, both white and red, at affordable prices for the event.

Wines will be sold at discount prices on the date of the event only.

A raffle and silent auction are also included in the evening’s festivities.

All proceeds of the event will go to augment technology improvements for Bitney College Prep students to prepare them to be ready for life and relevant to the world.

Tickets are available now for only $15 each at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2462018 or through the Bitney College Prep main office at 145 Joerschke Drive, Grass Valley, and at the door at the night of the event.
