Planting Perennials for Sun and Shade

10 a.m. to noon Sept. 13

— Learn which plants grow well in Nevada County

— Learn which are deer- resistant and which are drought tolerant.

What to Grow Under the Cover of Native Oaks

10 a.m. to noon Sept. 20

— Learn how to incorporate beautiful landscaping around native California oaks

— Learn how to identify oaks and where to plant around them to avoid root damage

— Identification of compatible landscape plants

Fall Plant Sale

9 a.m. to noon Sept. 27

— Cool-season vegetable starts, perennials, grasses and native shrubs for sale.

— Western Nevada County Gardening Guide will also be for sale

All events are free and located at the Demonstration Garden of NID Grounds, 1036 W, Main St, Grass Valley
