‘The Floyd’ tribute set for tonight in Auburn

Northern California tribute band, The Floyd, will perform at the State Theatre in Auburn tonight.

“The Floyd” is a two-hour, family friendly, multi-media, rock ‘n’ roll concert event that captivates all the senses, according to organizers. “The Floyd” pays tribute to the sounds, sights, emotions and energy of one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands in history; Pink Floyd. “The Floyd” will take viewers on a musical journey that spans over two decades of Pink Floyd history, recreating many of the greatest moments from; Meddle, The Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here, The Wall and Momentary Lapse of Reason.

Band members include Rob Lawrence on keyboards and synthesizers; Vince Gates on vocals, bass, guitar; Dean Rossi on drums, percussion; Curt Mitchell on guitars, vocals, bass; Lisa McCuiston on vocals, guitar; and Joel Edwards on saxophones.



Gates, also the manager, has been in the Northern Nevada music scene since the mid 1980s. Owner of “Play Your Own Music” in Carson City, Gates continues to support the local music scene daily. In 2008, he was named one of Reno’s top 101 “The List: 101 who mattered.”
