Sierra Theaters will offer eight weeks of kids’ movies at bargain prices at Del Oro Theatre beginning June 14 and continuing through Aug. 4.

Each movie will play Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning at 10. The snack bar will be open. The air conditioning will be on.

The series begins on June 14 with “Minions,” starring Kevin, Stuart, and Bob — three little yellow guys on a search for a new boss.

Starring the voice of Sandra Bullock as Scarlet Overkill and the voice of director Pierre Coffin as all the minions, this popular movie inspired thousands of Halloween costumes, silly jokes, and belly laughs, according to a press release.

The next few weeks showcase the most popular kids movies from 2015, including “Shaun the Sheep,” “Spongebob: Sponge out of Water,” “Home,” “Hotel Transylvania 2,” and “The Peanuts Movie.”

The series finishes up with two popular movies from years past: “Turbo” and “Horton Hears a Who.” All films shown are rated G or PG, and will be shown in stunning digital projection and digital surround sound in the main auditorium at the Del Oro Theatre.

This summer, the series will benefit Child Advocates of Nevada County.

Child Advocates of Nevada County is committed to improving the safety and healthy development of children in our community by making sure every child has someone they can count on. Child Advocate Volunteers speak out for children in Dependency Court to make sure their unique needs are met.

They also offer support for new parents and present the Child Safety Puppeteers who demonstrate to young children how to recognize and stand up to abuse. Together, with the Community’s help, Child Advocates of Nevada County makes sure that Nevada County’s children are safe, secure, and ready for the future.

The Sixth Annual Series is presented with support from four community sponsors: Gold Country Gymnastics, Body Balance Academy, Foothill Mercantile, and Paradise Donuts.

Advance tickets and series passes can be purchased at the Del Oro Box Office.

Individual tickets are $3.50.

A series pass gets you in to all eight movies for only $20 (limit two admissions per movie).
