Sierra Jazz hosts fall concert Sunday

Sierra Jazz Society will host a concert Sunday in Grass Valley.

Sierra Jazz Society will present its second Fall Concert Sunday. Hear Sierra Jazz Society faculty, led by Bill Douglass on bass; John Girton, guitar; Al Bent, trombone; Nora Nausbaum, flute; Kit Bailey, drums; with Jim Trefethen, sax; plus community musicians Ralph Remick, Morgan Halperin, Pat Black and Beverly Korenwasser.

Sierra Jazz Society has produced Jazz Camp since 2001. It will be offered again in July for all ages at the Nevada City School of the Arts. The concert series started last year with both professional musicians in the first half and community musicians playing in the second half.

Sunday’s concert is at 2:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains, 246 S. Church St. in Grass Valley.
