Sierra Family Health Clinic in Nevada City Nevada City clinic one of 24 health centers to receive $1.8M in grants
Sierra Family Medical Clinic in Nevada City is one of 24 new California health centers that will receive a total $1.8 million in awards for outreach and enrollment assistance through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
These funds will support health centers’ work in raising awareness of affordable insurance options and providing eligibility and enrollment assistance to uninsured residents in their communities.
Open enrollment in the Marketplace began on Nov. 1 and runs through Jan. 31.
“Today’s awards build upon the work health centers across the country have done over the past three years to help Californians learn about and enroll in affordable health insurance coverage,” Health Resources and Services Administration Acting Administrator Jim Macrae said. “With these funds, California health centers will be able to ramp up efforts to reach the uninsured members of their communities during Open Enrollment.”
Health centers are community-based and patient-directed organizations that serve populations with limited access to health care, according to a press release.
