Photos by Chris Hawkins, winner of Best Photo at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival art exhibit earlier this year, will be on display this weekend at South Pine Cafe, 110 S. Pine St. in Nevada City.

“My work celebrates the Yuba, which is part of the lore of this area,” Hawkins said.

The show will include “River Sage,” “Vessel” and others in large format to allow people to feel immersed in the river, at the same angles at which the photos were shot, highlighting the interesting and haunting shapes and curves of the river rock.
