Penn Valley Rodeo rolls Friday, Saturday

The Penn Valley Rodeo is coming Friday and Saturday at the Rodeo Grounds behind the fire station at 10513 Spenceville Rd. Penn Valley.

Gates open Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m.

New attractions this year include:

Casey Corner, the updated and added-on town next to the Wells Fargo Stage.

A new clown act which will be very entertaining.

The actual Wells Fargo Stage Coach on Saturday night.

On Friday and Saturday nights will be the extraordinary show of cowboy performances with the 59th Penn Valley Rodeo.

There will be hours of uninterrupted action.

Sunday is the local playday where your friends and neighbors come to compete, very similar to how rodeos first began.

Sunday is free.

Returning attractions include:

Queen Coronation starting at 7 p.m. Friday., with “mutton bustin” and “calf scramble”.

The Penn Valley Rodeo Parade will be 3 p.m. Saturday, put on by the Penn Valley Chamber of Commerce.

A barbeque dinner will be served by the Penn Valley Chamber of Commerce at the Cook House

The Snack Shack will again be staffed by Ready Springs School P.T.A.

Adult tickets for Friday and Saturday’s performance will be $10 in advance and $15 at the gate.

Kids 12-6 years are $5 and can be purchased at the gate.

The Rodeo is sponsored by Bud Light, Presenting Sponsor, and Auburn Dodge Chrysler Jeep, RAM Rodeo, Penn Valley True Value Hardware and Wells Fargo as Major Sponsors.
