Returning to The Open Book on Thursday, Dec. 5, Nory & Friends will bring their locally grown folk and fun music to this very special place to play. Tomes on shelves throughout the store soften the sound and influence the intellect of the listener, or so we’ve been told over the years. Whether or not that is true, original songs, covers, harmonies and stringed instruments in a warm and comforting ambiance are in store for you. Nory will play portions of the evening as a solo and intermittently he will be joined by various friends for duos and trios. A choir will even be on hand for a set of songs.

The adjoining café, Sierra Mountain Coffee Roasters, will be open to serve you with their yummy refreshments, desserts and a full espresso bar. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the music will go from 6:30 until 9 p.m.

“Nory’s music not only brings a smile to your face, it brings a smile to your soul,” said Kaaren P.

“To be with Nory as he plays his music is to be drawn around the hearth. He includes us all, inviting us to relax into an enlivening, wide ranging repertoire. Full of humor and tenderness, these songs are passionately and intimately delivered. You feel that each melody and lyric has been lived – you can be touched by their transformative power,” said Gene B.

“If you want to be delighted and ‘leave your worries out the doorstep,’ Nory’s heartfelt inclusivity brings together song and community which is a recipe for joy” said Deb K.

The Open Book is located at 671 Maltman Drive in Grass Valley. Suggested donation for the concert is $10 but no one will be turned away for giving more, or less. Come on out for an unusually satisfying evening. For more info call The Open Book at 530-273-4002.
