Nashville’s Jane Rose will appear with her Deadend Boys from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 26 at the Old 5 Mile House. The band belts a powerful dose of alt-country and rockabilly with a distinctive southern twang, driven by Spam on lead guitar, Fargo on the doghouse bass, and Peaches on the calf-skins, and led by the powerhouse vocals of Jane Rose herself. They’re deep in the depths of an open-ended cross country touring circuit, making a surprise stop in Nevada City somewhere along the way between Phoenix and Seattle. Brad Claussen of the Ratfest Custom Car Show recalls them as “the most rocking, high enrgy, chicken fling’n, rockabilly show of the day!” The video for their song “Bitten” has raked in more than 20,000 YouTube hits, and is worth the four and a half minutes for any reader who might be the least bit curious. They’ll be rocking the Stagecoach Lounge of the Old 5Mile House, featuring all ages dining and no cover.
