Sunday, Dec. 1, the Miners Foundry Cultural Center continues their exciting new Beta Series that aims to connect an all-ages audience with new and emerging artists. Enjoy a cozy evening at the Foundry with the sounds of solo acoustic guitar and melodic vocals featuring singer-songwriters including Hannah Jane Kile, with Karen Woerner and Deidra Hall.
Hannah Jane Kile is a singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer who often draws comparisons to her heroes Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones and Sara Bareilles. This summer she released two new self composed albums, “Broken Girl’s Anthem” and “They Almost Got Away – Vol. 1.” Fans have been waiting close to three years with great anticipation for this new music from one of Northern California’s most beloved songstresses. “Broken Girl’s Anthem” is a concept album about love in all its forms, from family, growth, loss and loving yourself.
“They Almost Got Away – Vol. 1” is a collection of songs Hannah wrote from the age of sixteen to nineteen that have been given a new life by finally being captured. She has performed at countless venues including the Strawberry Music Festival & California Worldfest. She is a favorite opener among national acts some of which include Grammy winning Patty Griffin, Ingrid Michelson, blues legend Carolyn Wonderland and jazz heroes Sammy Miller & The Congregation.
Karen Woerner is a multi-talented singer-songwriter who has performed solo and with local acts such as Petty Luv. Woerner captivate audiences with her dynamic and ethereal voice, charming stage manner, and versatile, multi-genre obscure and rare song choices. She also writes her own music, as well as covers a variety of traditional music from Europe and America, and both vintage and modern classics from songwriters in Folk, Classic Rock, Country, Americana and Bluegrass.
Deidra Hall is a soulful, singer-songwriter and native wild flower to the foothills of the beautiful Blueridge Mountains in North Carolina. After spending most of her life performing in local talent shows, open mics, and singing competitions, she was more than ready to spread her wings and recently brought her sweet southern sound to the West Coast, where she currently resides. Deidra has performed at open mics all over northern California. While she grew up where the blue grass grows, Deidra Hall simply can’t be confined to one genre as she flows through shades of folk, hues of blues, and even some hints of pop.
Experience or re-discover the historic Miners Foundry Cultural Center as a regular weekend attraction by attending the Beta Series while enjoying a beverage or a meal from our new menu.
