Madrigal Dinner set for Friday & Saturday in Grass Valley

The Nevada Union Choir’s Madrigal Dinner will be tonight and Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hall in Grass Valley.

The benefit event is one of largest annual fundraisers, and a fond tradition, for NU Choir Boosters.

Funds raised from the Madrigal Dinner help offset the costs of performances, music, costumes, choral festivals and more. Booster Eileen Blodgett says the choir depends heavily on events like this, and the concerts in which the students perform.

Tonight’s dinner and show begins at 7 p.m. and again at 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through the NU Choir website at

Any changes in the event due to the predicted snowstorm this weekend will be announced on the choir’s website or at its NU Choir Facebook page.

Those not able to make the Madrigal Dinner can see the choir in action during their Winter Concert on Dec. 13.
