Nevada County Arts presents a conversation with successful actress, stand-up comic, and playwright Katie Rubin at 7 p.m. Monday at the Off Center Stage, 315 Richardson St., in Grass Valley.

Katie’s presentation “The Real Life of a Working Writer/Performer,” is filled with stories and anecdotes from a 15-year career that has led to high praise from critics and a sustainable income for Katie.

Have you always wondered what it might be like to travel the country performing, to make your own schedule, to be self-employed and have no real “Boss” to speak of? Are you an actor or writer looking for insights about the realities of earning a living in the arts? Katie’s presentation will help you decide if the theater life is for you.
