Renowned local pianist Joe Hammel and his “Swingtime Combo” will perform at The Nevada County Jewish Community Center’s annual Deli Nite next weekend.

The popular event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Nevada City Elks Lodge, 518 State Highway 49.

The annual Deli Nite is an all-you-can-eat event, featuring traditional New York-style Jewish deli food, including pastrami, corned beef, salami, kosher hot dogs, authentic Jewish rye bread, potato salad, cole slaw, pickles and New York cheesecake, vegetarian lasagna and salad. Coffee and soft drinks are included and beer and wine will be for sale.

This authentic food is specially ordered and flown in and is not available anywhere else in Northern California.

This annual event is a fundraiser for the Nevada County Jewish Community Center and was inspired by the dream to create a traditional New York style Jewish Deli for one special night, right here in Nevada County.

For many folks from New York and Los Angeles, this delicious, familiar food is quite nostalgic.

For those folks who have never had an opportunity to experience this fantastic cuisine, this is a remarkable opportunity.

Tickets are $25 for adults ($30 at the door), $15 for children under 12 and children 3 and under are free.

Tickets are on sale at Briar Patch and The Bookseller in Grass Valley or online at delinite.brownpapertickets.com.
