Are you prepared? This quirky comedy written by Todd Berger allows us to enjoy all the excitement of the apocalypse without having to break out our hazmat suits ourselves. Set in a major U.S. city, this story follows four couples as they negotiate the awkwardness and tedium of a monthly couples brunch and also the possible end of society as we know it.

This play answers the age-old question: “If you only had one day to live, wouldn’t you like to spend it with people you love, arguing about relationships and rehashing old grievances over quiche and mimosas?”

With a talented ensemble cast, offbeat humor and a sprinkle of radiation and nerve gas, “It’s a Disaster” will leave you with hope for humanity but also realizing we deserve whatever we get.

The UpStart Theatre Company is a profit-sharing collective of theater artists, formed in 2017.
