Free meditation session offered Sunday at Nevada County Library

A free public session of Sahaja Meditation will be offered at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Gene Albaugh Community Room at the Madelyn Helling Library, 980 Helling Way, Nevada City.

The session, which will last about an hour, will show how to tap into one’s inexhaustible inner energy and achieve a state of thoughtless consciousness.

Members of the Folsom-based Sahaja Meditation Society will be on hand to lead the session.

According to organizers, the guided meditation session will be effortless, rejuvenating and results-oriented.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation was founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, a female yogi who was born in 1923 and lived until 2011.

Through her Sahaja Meditation, an inner transformation takes place, by which one becomes balanced, peaceful, joyous and relaxed.

Practitioners may experience the Kundalini (inner energy) awakening in the form of a cool breeze on the physical being.

When the Kundalini energy flows through each of one’s energy centers (chakras), it energizes and nurtures them, thereby achieving a harmonious balance in the subtle system.
