Free ‘Controversial Movie Night’ is Tuesday

A new monthly series “Controversial Movie Night,” begins 7 p.m. Tuesday at Nevada County Madelyn Helling Library. 980 Helling Way, Nevada City.

The free event, which continues the first Tuesday of the month, will feature a surprise film. Films are chosen that are informative, fun or educational.

Organizer Andrew Haley said the series is an independent community event, and not affiliated with the library. The group’s working title is C’mon Sense.

Community members are invited to be part of the movie selection committee, and help guide discussions around the films that are watched.

The event is open to the public. Children 13 and over may attend with an accompanying adult.
