Explore world music through ‘Origins’ series

Delphi Productions and the Haven Underground present event series “Origins; An Exploration of the World’s Music and Tradition.” The next show, Thursday (March 26) features Australian singer/songwriter Saritah and Indigenous/roots artist Cempoalli 20.

Conscious roots songstress Saritah (sa-REE-ta) is on a worldwide musical mission to uplift, inspire and heal. Bursting with an organic sound that is a uniquely feminine blend of reggae, soul, acoustic and dancehall flavors, Saritah has a relentless passion for inspiring people to live their purpose and to follow their dreams. Equally at home fronting a full band on the big stage with an audience of thousands as she is with an acoustic guitar in front of an intimate crowd, Saritah is always enchanting, disarming, and irresistibly positive, according to organizers.

A festival favorite with her infectious, beaming smile and colorful, energetic live shows, Saritah has graced the stages of some of the world’s most renowned musical gatherings including Glastonbury Festival (UK), Reggae Sun Ska (France), California Roots Festival (USA), Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, (USA), Jarasum International Jazz Festival (South Korea), Mosaic Festival (Singapore), GreenRoom Festival (Japan), Australasian Worldwide Music Expo (Aus) amongst many, many more. Artists she toured with/opened for include Michael Franti and Spearhead, The John Butler Trio, Groundation, Nahko and Medicine for the People, J BOOG, The Cat Empire, Anuhea amongst many others.

This event will also feature music by Dj Delphi and live painting by MamaWisdom1.

The show starts at 9 p.m., tickets are $10-$20 sliding scale and available at BriarPatch Co-op or at the door.
