In a piercing 90 minutes, “Endgame” explores the human condition, the nature of relationships between people, and what it is to be alive in the world.

The show by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Samuel Becket will open Oct. 8 at Off Center Stage in Grass Valley, just adjacent to The Center for The Arts at 314 W. Main St.

Directed by Ryan Schwalm, with co-direction by Micah Cone, set design by Pam Hodges and lighting design by Maury Horn, “Endgame” returns to Off Center Stage almost a decade after its last production in the Center for the Arts’ black-box theater.

“It is his remarkable ability to mix beauty, imagination, vitality, and wry humor that transforms Beckett from a mere dispenser of meaningless gloom into a dramatic poet,” The New York Post said of the play.
