Folk-rock singer-songwriter Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy performs Tuesday at Miners Foundry.
submitted |

folk-rock singer-songwriter Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy comes to Miners Foundry Cultural Center Tuesday for his first

performance in Nevada County in five years.

Doors open 7 p.m. and the show starts 8 p.m. at the Foundry at 325 Spring St., Nevada City.

Tickets are $25 advance/$30 at the door.

The man who acts under the name Will Oldham and sings and composes under the name Bonnie “Prince” Billy has, over the past quarter-century, made an idiosyncratic journey through, and an indelible mark on, the worlds of indie rock and independent cinema.

With his individualistic approach to music making and the music industry, he has captivated fans and made Oldham one of our most influential and beloved songsmiths. Since 1997, Oldham has released 20 albums under the name Bonnie

‘Prince’ Billy — a name that has had many different associations over the years.

His independent, DIY approach has made him a cult star, while one of his songs was even covered by Johnny Cash.

Although he has never signed with a major label, and has never risen higher than No. 194 on Billboard’s album chart, his concerts sell out all over the world.

The show is presented by the Miners Foundry in partnership with (((folkYEAH!))).

Joining Bonnie will be Baltimore duo Fountainsun.
