Baha’is Spiritual Book Club to explore leadership issues on Sept. 26

Baha’is of Nevada County Spiritual Book Club will discuss Native American aspects of leadership at its monthly meeting.

The theme of the meeting will be built around the book, “Compassionate Woman: The Life and Legacy of Patricia Locke,” by John Kolstoe.

Locke was a human rights reformer who helped preserve Native American culture while advancing culturally sensitive higher education on the reservations.

With Indigenous People’s Day on the horizon, the Baha’is of Nevada County invite the public to explore the definition of leadership that gave Locke’s life and work a major role in a nationally effective movement.

Light refreshments will be served.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Sept. 26 at Madelyn Helling Library, 980 Helling Way, Nevada City. For more information, call 530-802-0901.
