ASiF opens its doors for Second Saturday art event

The Artist Studios in the Foothills will host its Second Saturday Art Event this weekend. The monthly open studios features classroom demonstrations, resident artist studios and interactive art activities for the community from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (April 11).

This month artist Denise Wey will offer an acrylic painting demonstration from 11 a.m. — 2 p.m.

From 10 — 11:30 a.m. the ceramic studio will offer “Try a Class: Coil Flower Pots with Claudia Jeffers” for a $20 fee. Please call in advance to reserve at space at 477-0128. Or from 1 — 2 p.m. there will be hands-on demonstration by Claudia Jeffers for figurative sculpture.



The mixed media arts studio will offer an encaustic painting demo with artist Sharon Griffiths from 11 a.m. — 3 p.m.

Throughout the event, attendees are encouraged to meet the resident artists and browse the private and shared studio spaces.
