Once a year, one of Nevada City’s charming brick buildings will transform into a festival of light and color, showcasing a long-standing tradition of art for the holidays. LeeAnn Brook Fine Art will once again host
Artisans Bounty, their annual show of handcrafted art for the holidays featuring the work of over 30 different artists. Featured items will include hand woven wall hangings by Sue Weil, small works paintings by Mark Wilcox and LeeAnn Brook, ceramics by Bob Davis including new custom made Nevada City mugs, Yuba River watercolors by Della Heywood, wood-turned evergreen trees by John Williamson, seasonal greeting cards, and new silk scarves by LeeAnn Brook. The event will begin the day after Thanksgiving and will continue through the month of December. LeeAnn Brook Fine Art will feature special “meet the artists” events during Victorian Christmas in downtown Nevada City, including Dec. 8, Sue Weil, Hand Woven Wall Hangings, and a Trunk Show with jewelry designer Leah Janet on Dec. 15, with both events running from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The show runs through the month of December.
“Visitors have always come to Nevada City for our charming, artful community. When I moved here in 1977, I loved coming to the various art festivals in town beginning on Thanksgiving weekend. When I opened my gallery in 2015, I wanted to be a part of that continuing tradition, so I started Artisans Bounty, bringing in unique handcrafted items perfect for gift-giving. The gallery’s historic brick building with 20 foot ceilings is the perfect setting for creating a warm, inviting environment filled with art,” commented gallery owner/artist LeeAnn Brook. “We are thrilled to be a part of such a beautiful community.”
LeeAnn Brook Fine Art features Brook’s working studio as well as the art of over 30 different artists, plus monthly guest artist shows. The gallery is open daily from 12-5 p.m., and on Saturdays at 11 a.m., with extended hours during Victorian Christmas. Located at 231 Broad Street in downtown Nevada City.
