Art Works Gallery invites everyone to its fifth anniversary party from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at 113 Mill St. in Grass Valley.

In addition to celebrating five successful years, Art Works, a co-op gallery consisting of more than 30 Nevada County artists using many different mediums, is also giving back to the community with our Art Block Party to benefit NEO Youth Center.

For the past seven weeks, community artists of all levels have donated money for a blank block on which they have designed and created works of art. These pieces have been returned to Art Works and installed in a featured window creating a interlocking block mural.

Almost all the blocks are for sale with prices mostly ranging from $15 to $100, and many have already been sold.

All proceeds of the blank blocks and the finished art pieces go to NEO. So far, Art Works has raised more than $1,700 but that number will go up as finished art blocks are sold.

The public may come into the gallery at any time to purchase a finished art block; however, at Saturday’s party, there will be a few select art block masterpieces up for a silent auction. Cake and other refreshments will be available.

For more information, stop by the gallery at 113 Mill St. between Tess’ Kitchen Store and Lazy Dog Chocolateria, or call 530-477-1600. To learn more about Art Works Gallery, visit http://www.ArtWorksGalleryCo-op.com.
