Annual equestrian ride to raise funds for trails

Gold Country Trails Council will host their annual fundraiser for building and maintaining non-motorized trails in the local area for the public use July 6.

Participants will ride on eight miles of easy to moderate wooded trails through the Tahoe National Forest, starting and ending at Skillman Horse Camp on Highway 20 east of Nevada City.

A playing card is received by each rider at five stations throughout the route to create a poker hand that will result in prizes for the lucky winners. Prize donations are provided by local businesses and individuals. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase during registration for additional prizes.

Check-in and registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The ride will begin at 10 with all riders returning to Skillman for a meal provided at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Entry forms are also available from and at local feed and tack stores.
