Eight local artists will display their work from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the BriarPatch Co-op Market Community Room in Grass Valley.

Original paintings, prints, cards and other gift items will be available for viewing and purchase.

Judy Adams, Charlotte Brux-Bolinger, Vivien Kane, Judi Kreinick, Mim Meakin, Robin Van Zee, Barbara Venable and Barbara Wirth are the featured artists.

These artists are part of the Art 4 Fun group that meets twice a month to work together and provide critiques if requested, as well as encouragement.

Art 4 Fun was started in 2003 by students from Sierra College who wanted to paint on a regular basis. The group meets once a month at the Madelyn Helling Library Community Room in Nevada City.

In the past several years, the meetings have also been at one of the 16 members’ homes another day of the month.

The camaraderie of people from many different backgrounds helps to make the meetings fun, said Brux-Bolinger.
