Golden Empire loses beloved service dog

Beaudry, the service dog at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital, has passed away.

It is with a sad heart that I let you all know that our beloved Beaudry has passed on.

Beaudry, our black Labrador service dog at Grass Valley's Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital, has been a part of our lives and the lives of our residents for years.

He was truly a caregiver to our residents as well as all of us who loved him. Beaudry was always happy to go to work. His daily visits with our residents brought a smile to their face. Everyone loved to feed him and many saved up their bananas just for him. He delivered our residents' mail, visited the side of beds of our residents who were very ill, as well as countless other jobs. All of us will miss and mourn his loss.

A special thanks to Helen Vanderhoof, who cared for him, as he cared for us. May his memory live long in our hearts, for he was loved by all of us.
