Police Blotter: Get these pot plants off my lawn

8:14 a.m. - A caller from the 10000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported the strong smell of marijuana emitted from a nearby school.

9:44 a.m. - A caller from Grass Valley reported the theft of her medication by her roommate.

3:26 p.m. - A caller from the 13000 block of Highway 49 reported a juvenile threatening the management of an overnight accommodation business.

4:18 p.m. - A caller from the 14000 block of Mcanally Place reported that neighbors, who are marijuana growers, are threatening to harm him.

7:07 p.m. - A caller from the 1000 block of Gold Drive reported that homeless people are chastising her from the woods behind her house.

9:56 p.m. - A caller from the 17000 block of Jones Ridge Road reported suspicious activity when a female asked to gather water for a car radiator emergency but knew the exact location of her hose spigot, in the dark, after receiving permission.


12:01 a.m. - A caller from the 17000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported an elderly female with a large garbage bag was repeatedly falling off a bar stool.

1:36 p.m. - A caller from Brewer Road and Judith Court reported a vehicle swerving all over the road and knocking over mail boxes.

2:06 p.m. - A caller from the 13000 block of Maidu Trail reported three marijuana plants on his property and would like to have them picked up and removed.

3:38 p.m. - A caller from the 21000 block of McDaniel Road reported seeing a car go up the roadway and then heard two shots fired and the car speeding away immediately after.

3:41 p.m. - A caller from the 21000 block of McDaniel Road reported that his stepgrandson just stole a dog they both have a claim to. The caller reported the man fired four blanks into the ground to deter the man from responding to the theft.

3:43 p.m. - A caller from the 13000 block of China Court reported her neighbor’s house being burglarized as a man that the neighbor has a restraining order against is removing items at the property.

Logs from the Grass Valley and Nevada City police departments were not available for today’s paper.
