Police blotter: Chicken-eating bear, Craigslist rental scam

Thursday

7:14 a.m. — A caller from the post office reported a woman sleeping in the lobby, who was gone when officers arrived.

10:42 a.m. — A caller from City Hall reported vandalism to vehicle sin the parking lot.

11:21 a.m. — A caller from a business in the 100 block of Joerschke Drive reported a person cashed a fraudulent check.

1:03 p.m. — A woman from Freeman Lane and West McKnight Way reported road rage.

1:22 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Glasson Way reported a stolen vehicle that might have had two firearms inside.

4:22 p.m. — A caller from Nevada City Highway and Brunswick Road reported a woman on a bus on drugs. She was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, and violating probation.

5:55 p.m. — A caller from the 200 block of Cornwall Avenue reported a transient camp.

7:30 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West McKnight Way reported a girl shoplifting, who was cited.

7:31 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Neal Street reported the theft of a bicycle.

8:42 p.m. — A woman from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported a man stole jewelry and pawned it in Sacramento.

9:06 p.m. — A caller from South Church and West Main streets reported a man lying on the sidewalk, who was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

1:51 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Henderson Street reported two drunk men, one of whom broke a window. A man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

10:04 a.m. — A caller from the 21000 block of Meyer Ravine Road reported identity theft.

10:37 a.m. — A woman from the 11000 block of Red Dog Road reported someone used her rental listing property and fraudulently put it on Craigslist to get first and last month’s rent.

11:04 a.m. — A caller form the 23000 block of Lone Pine Road reported a scam.

11:43 a.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of San Francisco Street reported the theft of silver dollars.

11:58 a.m. — A caller form the 25000 block of Oro Valley Road reported a burglary to a vehicle.

12:48 p.m. — A caller form the 17000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported the theft of a boat cover.

1:21 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Spenceville Road reported a neighbor accidentally shot a man’s truck.

3:40 p.m. — A caller form the 22000 block of Moss Rock Court reported identity theft.

4:30 p.m. — A caller from the 11000 block of Lakeshore South reported the theft of mail from a mailbox.

5:22 p.m. — A caller from Highway 173 and Meadow View Drive reported someone in a Buick tried to hit the caller with their vehicle.

8:15 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Spenceville Road reported a man was drunk and throwing and breaking items. He was arrested on suspicion of damaging a phone and child endangerment.

8:50 p.m. — A man from the 12000 block of Slate Creek Road reported a bear trying to eat his chickens.

9:17 p.m. — A caller from Wolf Road reported an overturned vehicle.

9:19 p.m. — A caller from the 24000 block of Oro Valley Road reported a burglary to an unlocked vehicle.

9:40 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Combie Road reported the theft of items from a vehicle.

Friday

12:37 a.m. — A woman from the 13000 block of Ridge Road reported a man put her property outside and put up a gate. A man was arrested on suspicion of climbing a power pole.

2:11 p.m. — A caller from Argall Way reported the theft of a bicycle four days ago.

5:17 p.m. — A caller from Nevada City Highway reported a reckless driver in a Jeep who had passed out at a stoplight and was all over the road.
