Home invader suspect sought

Grass Valley Police officers are looking for a suspect who broke into a Second Street home and demanded drugs before fleeing Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the residence on the 300 block shortly after midnight after the victim called to report an intruder with a mask, said Lt. Alex Gammelgard.

The homeowner said she heard a scratching sound at the door and went to investigate, finding the burglar already inside. A white bandanna reportedly covered the suspect’s face, and the person was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, ripped skinny blue jeans and black shoes. The victim believed the suspect was female, based on stature, Gammelgard said.

According to dispatch reports, the suspect yelled, “You know why I’m here; where’s the dope.”

The burglar subsequently fled out the back door without stealing anything, Gammelgard said. It is believed the suspect entered through that door, which was unlocked.

No one was located and the investigation is ongoing, Gammelgard said. Anyone with information is being urged to call the police department at 477-4600.
