Proud of our schools

All nine of our children have graduated from Nevada Union High School. We enjoyed three commencement exercises this year.

Ellie, who just graduated will be attending BYUH. Natalie received her bachelor’s degree in Phycology at BYUHl and Danny his Ph.D in Molecular Biochemistry at U.C. Santa Barbara.

Thus far, eight have received bachelor’s degrees, and three received advanced degrees. Much of their successes are due to the great schools they have attended here in Nevada County.

From the great staff and teachers at Gold Run, Deer Creek and Seven Hills to Nevada Union.

We feel that our children have been inspired by many great teachers and administrative personnel.

Obviously, we can not remember them all, but some that really stood out include Mr. Baggett, Blake, Fuji, Gallagher, Homan, Hotchkiss, Hurd, McCarthy, McDaniel, Kline, Sharpe, Zetterberg, Ms. Bostard, Gillespie, Kopp and Minch.

They were blessed to participate in great programs of track, water polo, swimming, tennis, theater, choir and yearbook.

We would like to publicly thank these teachers, mentors, coaches, counselors, principals and other staff for helping to make this possible.

Needless to say, we are very proud of our children and the community in which we live.

David and Nancy DeMartini
