Thanks to Gary Brown for his celebratory article on the life of our neighbor of 25 plus years, Paul Finch. All five families on our road appreciated and loved Paul for his positive attitude and sly wit.
We brought him his San Francisco Chronicle every morning; other neighbors did much more, with outings to IHOP for breakfast, errands in town and loving care during his last days. His party for his 90th birthday was held at IHOP, of course, and his gift of a Marine Corps jacket brought him to tears.
Never a negative word, always happy to have another day, always a teasing joke. He was, as Gary Brown illustrated, a fine man and neighbor.
