Bright lights bring Christmas cheer to Nevada County (Map)

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas all throughout western Nevada County.

With Christmas just four days away, and the holiday lights shining bright in the night, The Union offers some suggested favorite Christmas decorations and light displays from our readers.

As Eddie the Elf hosts his final Christmas in Nevada City, be sure to make a visit to his Pasquale Road cottage for a unforgettable experience.

Of course, both downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City set the mood for the season’s spirit once again with their classic white lights topping the buildings.

Two of the larger light displays are in Grass Valley, including a bit of a hidden gem off French Avenue and, of course, one of the largest displays presented each year on Butler Road.

Stop by Penstock Drive in Grass Valley for a show synchronized to Christmas music or head off for another on Rattlesnake Drive, which boasts 80,000 lights and dozens of inflatables as part of Santa’s Transportation Department

Readers also suggest that Siesta Drive in Penn Valley is worth the short trip down Highway 20 to take in the displays of several homes in the neighborhood.
