Police blotter: Phone scam and frauds

Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

8:45 a.m. — A caller from Silver Springs High School reported confiscating a knife.

10:15 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Mill Street reported the theft of a skateboard deck.

10:21 a.m. — A caller from the 100 block of Olympia Park Road reported finding drug paraphernalia.

11:19 a.m. — A caller from the 100 bock of Park Avenue reported two students making sexual comments to a female student. They were admonished and the school was handling further action.

11:21 a.m. — A man reported the fraudulent use of his credit card.

1:55 p.m. — A caller from the 600 block of Freeman Lane reported the theft of a wallet from a vehicle.

2:30 p.m. — A caller from Ridge Road and Ventana Sierra Drive reported eight juveniles possibly involved in a drug transaction; they were gone when officers arrived.

3:07 p.m. — A caller from the 2000 block of Nevada City Highway reported the theft of a gold Honda Accord.

5:15 p.m. — A caller from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported a man trying to break into an apartment. He had been in a fight with his wife the night before and didn’t have the key to retrieve his belongings.

5:19 p.m. — A caller from the 800 block of Sutton Way reported four or five people in an argument for about 45 minutes.

5:53 p.m. — A caller from West McKnight Way and Freeman Lane reported a man lying across the hood of a vehicle, causing a disturbance. No one was located.

6:05 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of West Berryhill Drive reported a burglary.

Wednesday

2:04 a.m. — A caller from Colfax Avenue and Ophir Street reported a man trying to get into a vacant business; the could not be located.

2:53 a.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Colfax Avenue reported a prowler, who was admonished.

5:51 a.m. — A caller from the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a man tried to steal a flashlight and sunglasses, then left the store.

Tuesday

12:28 p.m. — A caller from the 14000 block of Meadow Drive reported the theft of a debit card.

12:39 p.m. — A woman from the 17000 block of Penn Valley Drive reported being defrauded of $500.

12:55 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of Cedar Way reported a fraud.

3:15 p.m. — A caller from the 16000 block of Scott Way reported suspicious calls with strange questions that were frightening an elderly woman; it was a phone scam.

5:16 p.m. — A caller from Bear River High School reported a baby hit in the head at the soccer field.

5:49 p.m. — A caller from the 21000 block of Brewer Road reported a possibly neglected dog.

6:45 p.m. — A caller from Highway 20 and Gold Flat Road reported a vehicle fire.

7:04 p.m. — A caller from the 10000 block of San Francisco Street reported a theft.

7:07 p.m. — A man from the 14000 block of Auburn Road reported a residential burglary.

8:39 p.m. — A caller from Carrie Ann Lane reported two women in a physical fight, with a window broken and the women throwing punches at each other.

10:16 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Ridge Road reported a man looking in mailboxes. He could not be located.

Wednesday

6:40 a.m. — A caller from Granholm Lane and Gold Flat Road reported hearing a woman screaming; it was an animal.

Tuesday

9:11 a.m. — A caller from North Pine Street reported a trespasser.

6:51 p.m. — A woman from Pine Street reported a man in a shed violating a court order; he was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order.

7:16 p.m. — A caller from Nimrod Street reported a woman screaming obscenities; another caller reported she was hiding in bushes. She was arrested on suspicion of violating probation.

8:28 p.m. — A caller from Old Downieville Highway reported his wife punched him, but he did not need medical attention.
