OCEANSIDE — A shooting at an Oceanside park has killed two teenagers and injured two others.
Police say the shooting occurred at around 9 p.m. Wednesday at Libby Lake Park. Two teens died and two were taken to hospitals but are expected to survive.
Authorities haven’t released their names or provided a motive for the attack.
Lt. Leonard Cosby tells U-T San Diego that the victims were found near a memorial to two teenagers who were shot to death, apparently by gang members, in May of 2011.
Fourteen-year-old Sandra Salgado and 16-year-old Felix Solano were killed even though they were not gang members.
In January, a gang member was sentenced to four years in prison for being an accessory to the shooting after the fact. Three others are charged with murder.
