Recognizing public servants

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) is a proud supporter of Public Service Recognition Week. It is a public education campaign honoring the men and women who serve our country as federal, state, county and local government employees.

Americans are served every day by public servants. They are the unsung heroes who do the work that keeps our nation working, whether it is border patrol officers, embassy employees, airport security, fire and police protection, mail delivery, Centers for Disease Control or processing Social Security checks.

Day in and day out, they provide the diverse services demanded by the American people of their government with efficiency and integrity.

Without these pubic servants at every level, continuity would be impossible in a democracy that regularly changes its leaders and elected officials. Our county and our state have thousands of public servants who honorably serve government agencies at all levels.

Every member of our society should recognize the accomplishments and contributions of public employees who are dedicated to providing these services and thank them for all they do on behalf of their country, state and communities.
