Thanks to Ruth Mazur for her letter titled “What were they thinking?”. Not only is the voting down of Measure B putting your home at risk in a fire, but also putting our lives at risk.

The fire department is our first responder and sometimes minutes can make the difference between life and death. Also many of the major insurance companies will no longer ensure homes in our district. One of the first questions they ask is this: Do you have a manned fire station close by?

I hope when this comes up for a vote again that people in our district will consider these things and vote “yes.” It is a small price to pay for something so important.
