More trash talk

I would like to write an essay on the incompetency of Waste Management since they started this conversion to the new trash cans, but I will refrain from the litany, as so many have done so in the past.

Let it be said only that Waste Management has provided extremely poor and incompetent, thoughtless support for those of us who live in the rural areas of the county.

It must be nice to run a company so badly and still know that your income will not be affected. This is what a monopoly can come to. Where is the county and why aren’t they all over these guys for their terrible support and conversion program?

What I would really like to see is for the county to contract with at least three or four trash companies and let the customers choose the company that provides the best service. Let’s try a little competition. Each company can provide cans of certain colors so their will be no confusion as to which cans they pick up. The companies could coordinate so they collect from the same regions on different days to further reduce any confusion. Yes, there are other issues, but they can be worked out. If I was able to choose a trash collector, it would not be Waste Management.

Where are you, county?

By the way, I feel sorry for the drivers and workers in the trucks ... after this conversion is complete, I expect Waste Management to reduce its staff by at least 20 to 30 percent. I have seen some counties where only one person is in each truck. Right now there are how many? Two or tree? Do the math.
