Hundreds rally round the river

With enormous gratitude, the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) is grateful for the 620 volunteers who removed over 13,000 pounds of trash and recycling out of the Yuba and Bear Rivers, Deer, Dry and Wolf Creek watersheds on Sept. 17 for the 14th Annual Greater Yuba River Clean-up and Restoration Day. Thanks to the 17 agencies and citizens that hauled the trash away from the 35 sites extending from Donner Summit down to Parks Bar on the lower Yuba River. Special thanks to all the local farmers who donated food for the lunch along with the stores and bakeries. Acknowledgment also to our major sponsors: Nevada City Self Storage, Briar Patch Co-op, A-One Bookkeeping & Tax, Builders and Consumers, PG & E and YubaNet News. Thank you to the entire community of people demonstrating their stewardship of our watershed.
