Fundraiser yields more than $6,000 for mammography

Hey fellow Nevada Countians. The next time you see Steve Loomis at Hills Flat Lumber, Robert Bare, Scott Mantel, and/or Jaysen McDaniels, be sure to give them kudos for their generosity as volunteer officials at the “2014 Saved by Second Base” fundraiser.

Proceeds exceeded $6,000 and are available to cover mammography and diagnostic costs. Anyone in need should see Melisa Agness at Insight Imaging to take advantage of Sb2B funds.

Dr. Agness and her staff, along with Tapestry Ladies: Melisa Mistler-Yates and her crew, were the concessionaires keeping us all fed and hydrated at the July 19-20 event. Char Arnett kept the fun rolling with raffle prizes from The Wooden Spoon, Scraps Dog Bakery, The Mercantile, Future Generations, The Bamboo Store, Rachelle Chan/Blondies, South Yuba Club, Sierra Cinemas, Tofanelli’s and more. Jill Grininger from What’s Your Sign had us decked out in T-shirts and tanks while full team sponsorships of $250 from Marini Accounting, DMCE, Med Partners, and Hills Flat Lumber let players enjoy the day of games at Les Eva Field for “free,” although donations were flowing to help us reach our goal and to serve more in need.

Thanks to all who participated in being a potential “life saver,” the weekend was a blast!

Ronnie Warmerdam, aka “Softball Ronnie”

Sb2B Coordinator
