Look it up

I always am suspicious of a person’s “facts” when they use a quote and don’t take the time to correctly attribute it to the proper author.

For example, in Michele Spencer’s “Other Voices” piece, she attributes the oft used quote “Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely” to King Louis XIV of France. Sorry, Michele, you’re not even close. This was penned by Lord John Dalberg-Acton of England. Look it up. Wikipedia has a nice article.
