Bail reduced in Grass Valley sex offender case

A registered sex offender who had been out of compliance for the last 12 years — and who was arrested this week after allegedly trying to coax a young girl to model for him — had his bail reduced Thursday from $150,000 to $50,000. That’s because even though Emillo Santos Agnew was convicted of felony sexual battery, failing to register is only a misdemeanor offense, said Nevada County Assistant District Attorney Anna Ferguson. A new charge of annoying a minor might be filed against Agnew, another misdemeanor offense that would bump his bail up, as Nevada County stacks bail amounts …
