A Grass Valley man has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of an Auburn gas station and market earlier this month.
Auburn Gas & Food at 1110 High St. was robbed Feb. 7 by a man wearing a mask, who brandished a gun at a clerk and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Auburn Police detectives were able to identify the suspect through witness statements and through physical evidence directly connected to the crime, said Sgt. Dale Hutchins. They also were able to recover the firearm allegedly used during the robbery.
Investigators from the Auburn and Grass Valley police departments served a search warrant at a residence in the 1400 block of Segsworth Way in Grass Valley Tuesday afternoon, and seized items associated with the robbery, Hutchins said.
Jeremiah Navratil, 24, was found hiding in a closet, said Grass Valley Police Capt. Rex Marks. He was taken into custody without incident, booked into Placer County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery and committing a felony while out on bail, and was being held without bail.
