A Lake of the Pines woman was arrested after allegedly slashing her son’s arm with a butcher knife during an argument Thursday night.
Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call from the residence in the 13000 block of Torrey Pines Drive just before 10:30 p.m., according to dispatch reports. The caller reported his mother had stabbed him, was drunk and was high on methamphetamine.
Deputies arrived at the residence and found the 31-year-old man sitting on the porch with blood all over his shirt and a bandage on his arm, said Sheriff Keith Royal. The man’s mother, who was still inside the residence, began yelling, Royal said.
As deputies worked to calm her down and try to determine what occurred, the woman — identified as Brenda Lou Gildea, 53 — told officers another deputy had been out to the house earlier in the day.
“She said her son had pushed her down, sat on her, and farted on her,” Royal said.
According to dispatch reports, a deputy was called to the residence at 3 p.m. after Gildea reported a man had violated a restraining order; the man said he had filed for divorce and she was “not herself.”
The stabbing allegedly occurred later that day while the son was in the kitchen, cooking dinner. The son told deputies his mother was berating his father and he told her to stop, Royal said.
Gildea allegedly became enraged, grabbed the knife and slashed at him, inflicting a defensive wound on his arm.
Gildea denied using meth, but was determined to be under the influence, Royal said.
She was booked into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and being under the influence of a controlled substance, and is being held in lieu of $26,000 bail.
