Several legal challenges against Nevada County’s medical marijuana cultivation ordinance currently are under way in both county and federal court. But that’s of little consolation to the growers who have been served with abatement notices from the Nevada County Sheriff’s marijuana ordinance enforcement team. As of Nov. 1, the team — which has been responding to marijuana cultivation nuisance complaints since the controversial ordinance was passed by the county Board of Supervisors May 8 — had issued 85 notices to abate.
