Oceans and fish to be topic of discussion Dr. Lisa Thompson will discuss the impact of global climate change on water and oceans, including the expected effects on salmon and other fish, in a free seminar Wednesday. Thompson is a fisheries biologist specializing in California’s inland and seagoing fish for the Cooperative Extension office of the University of California, Davis. A key goal of her research into the many factors that affect fish populations is to develop better ways to manage fisheries and encourage the adoption of those practices.
