Prep roundup: FLC flying high in league play

The Forest lake Christian girls volleyball team is half way through their Central Valley California League schedule and have yet to drop a league match.
The Lady Falcons made it a clean sweep in the first half of the CVCL Thursday with a straight set victory over Foresthill, 25-17, 25-15, 25-11.
Leading the Lady Falcons (14-4, 6-0 CVCL) was Hannah Zea with 10 kills and seven digs. Morgan Koch tallied eight kills and nine digs, Aly English added three kills and led the team in assists with 15, and Emily Pearce pitched in with five kills and 10 assists.
Coming up big off the bench was Sarah Ponce with seven digs and four aces.
FLC gets back at it next Thursday against Sacramento Waldorf.
Bear River 3, Foothill 0

The Lady Bruins battled through a difficult non-league season in preparation for a tough Pioneer Valley League schedule.
That rocky road is paying off now as Bear River is 3-0 in the PVL. The Lady Bruins beat Foothill Thursday, 25-12, 25-4, 25-7.
The Lady Bruins got a big game from Teryn Rath with 10 kills, Kaely Rath tallied seven kills and Kirsten Pereira added seven kills in the win.
Bear River will host Placer, also undefeated in PVL play, Tuesday.
Roseville 221, Nevada Union 285
The Lady Miners haven't won a match this season, but they are still hacking away in the Sierra Foothill League, falling to Roseville Thursday at Sierra View Country Club.
Leading NU was Sydni Smith with a team-low 50, Carly Keogh was next with a 54, Lindsay Smith also shot a 54, Samantha Felhofer shot a 60, and Sierra Wood rounded things out with a 67.
Rocklin 7, Nevada Union 2
The Nevada Union girls tennis team took on the Thunder Thursday at home.
Emaline Peeler in the No. 5 singles match played well to win in three sets. Sierra Dallugge is on a roll and has won her last four matches, including Thursday's 7-5, 6-2 win.
Katie King put up a great fight in the No. 2 singles contest in a 2 1/2 hour battle that she lost in a third set tiebreaker.
The No. 2 doubles team of Hayley Barton and Becca Hofheinz also played a good match.
NU takes the court again Oct. 22 against Roseville at home.
Woodcreek 4, Nevada Union 1
The Miners struggled to slow the Timberwolves' offense and in the end lost by three goals.
Scoring the lone goal for NU was Nikolai Breiter coming on an assist by Pedro Spegiorin.
JV: Nevada Union 1, Woodcreek 1
The Miners got a goal from Dalmiro Carrillo on an assist by Dillon Moreno to tally a tie with Woodcreek Thursday.
